WHAT IS AN INSTRUMENT RATING

All GAS instructors fly IFR charter, so it makes sense to learn from pilots who fly in these conditions.

An Instrument Rating is a must have rating for the serious pilot.

We will teach you how to operate an aircraft safely to enable you to fly in poor weather conditions called Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC).

This includes:

·         Cloud

·         Low or no visibility conditions

·         At night in cloud and low or no visibility conditions

During this course you will learn instrument flight rules (IFR), the techniques used to successfully perform an instrument departure and an instrument arrival without visual reference and how to handle threats in different weather conditions.

The course can be completed in a single engine class aircraft or multi engine class aircraft. Candidates electing to undertake this course in a multi engine class aircraft are required to hold the Multi Engine Class Rating (and we can help with that too!).

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ?

At GAS we work around your schedule, making it very flexible. You can train every day if you like, study every afternoon, you could hold your Instrument Rating in as little as 4 weeks!

How often you choose to train is purely up to you. Our instructors will do their best to accommodate your
